At least 16 people have been killed and more than 40 wounded following a twin car bombing in Baghdad.
The deadly explosions took place at a bus terminal in a predominantly Shi’ite district in the southwest of the Iraqi capital. The attack comes as Shi’ite Muslims celebrate the Arbain festival with thousands of pilgrims making the trip to a holy shrine in Kerbala south of Baghdad. In a separate incident in north Baghdad, a roadside bomb killed one pilgrim and wounded six others. Despite a drop in violence in the past year, suicide and car bombers still operate in the Iraqi capital.
