Hamas hands missing aid back to UN

world news

| |

The United Nations says Hamas has returned all the aid supplies it seized in the Gaza Strip last week clearing the way for it to resume its work.

The agency suspended importing goods into Gaza after it claimed Hamas lifted 10 trucks loaded with humanitarian aid from a UN warehouse. Hamas denies it confiscated the goods, saying it was a misunderstanding between drivers due to a lack of coordination. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency is currently providing food to some 900,000 Palestinians following Israel’s military assault that killed 1,300 people.
