There was a touch of Hollywood style glitz and glamour in London last night at the British film awards also known as the BAFTAS.

One movie has already picked up a slew of awards and ageing rocker Mick Jagger was there to announce another. Slumdog is a rags to riches story , a feel good movie to warm every heart. The tale of a kid from the slums winning the big prize on a Hindi TV game show. Kate Winslett, a double Golden Globe winner won the leading actress award for her role as a former concentration camp guard in The Reader And reformed bad boy Mickey Rourke picked up his award for leading actor. The Wrestler tells the story of a lonely washed up professional athlete making a come back – a role which so much parallels the actor s own troubled life.
