Demonstrators have been showing their support for an Italian woman’s right to die.Eluana Englaro has been in a coma after a traffic accident in 1992. Her father wants his daughter to be allowed to die. Italian Prime Minister Berlusconi is trying to pass a law to keep her alive and the Vatican agrees But Berlusconi has been accused of playing politics in a case which has split Italy. The leader of the Democratic Party saying: “the story of this young woman is being used. “ Leader Veltroni says that’s why he is speaking out. Berlusconi denies an alternative agenda, even though he and the Vatican are disagreeing with the Italian President who says Miss Englaro should be allowed to die. Berlusconi said: “there is no plan…nothing… this is just a case that has attracted my attention and the attention of other ministers and Italian public opinion. He said he was in favour or preserving life and the liberty of life. Everyone in Italy has a view on the tragic case, meanwhile Miss Englaro’s family simply want feeding tubes removed so she can die and they can have closure.
