Sony loss warning

Sony is warning of a bigger-than-expected 2.2 billion euro operating loss for the current business year, which ends in March. That would be its first such loss in 14 years.

The electronics and entertainment conglomerate blamed falling consumer demand and the stronger yen. It is also engaged in a costly restructuring of its ailing electronics operations and said all Japanese production of televisions could be moved to one factory, likely leading to 2,000 people losing their jobs.More about: Economy, Japan
