Bruce leads the serenade to Obama in Wasghington

It is Martin Luther King day, a national US holiday, and the celebratory mood in the capital last night was for tomorrow’s President Barack Obama, whom many see as his inheritor.

Musicians and stars were on stage and in the audience for the Democrat’s party, and their hero popped in to say hello. Both president-elect and vice-president-to-be stood side by side listening after a day when they had criss-crossed the capital for a series of pre-inauguration events. This is Washington’s biggest and most elaborate ever inauguration, but the pair may have been thinking more about policy than music as their first 100 days in office could be among the most crucial in the nation’s history.More about: Barack Obama, USA
