Bin Laden tape calls for jihad

An audio tape purported to be a recording of Osama bin Laden is calling for a jihad or a holy war over the conflict in Gaza.

“The call is for young people to rally together for a jihad in the name of Allah, against the crusading coalition and their agents in the region,” the voice on the tape says. News agencies say the tape has appeared on Islamist websites, monitored by the American company IntelCenter. US officials have not yet said if they believe the voice is authentic. They have been able to analyse recordings in the past and determine whether it’s bin Laden’s voice. The recording is said to have been made recently. His last audio tape distributed on the net was last May.
