British actress Kate Winslet has won Best Actress and Best Supporting Actress at the Golden Globe awards.
She was voted Best Actress for “Revolutionary Road”, which saw her reunited with her Titantic co star Leonardo Di Caprio. She then took the Best Supporting Actress title for “The Reader”, in which she played a German woman with a hidden past. Winslet said she was shocked as she never wins things. Another Brit, director Danny Boyle, was feted for his latest feature film, “Slumdog Millionaire”, about an illiterate boy who plays for money and love in the Indian version of “Who wants to be a millionaire.” The film won Boyle Best Director, as well as collecting Golden Globes for Best Original Score and Best Screenplay. Israel’s Waltz with Bashir was the Best Foreign Film, an animated documentary on the horrors of the 1982 Lebanon war.
