Gas talks fail between Russia and Ukraine Deliveries of Russian gas to Europe are set to resume today, with an expected deal on independent monitors to oversee gas flowing through Ukraine. The row over unpaid bills saw Moscow turn off the flow to Kiev, causing supply cuts further down the line in eastern and central Europe. Russia accused Ukraine of siphoning off gas intended for customers further west.
