Israel counts cost of its fight with Hamas

The number of dead on both sides of the Gaza conflict continues to rise. Earlier, the funerals of three Israeli soldiers killed in so called friendly fire. Israel’s army says an errant tank shell hit their position outside Gaza city yesterday. It brings the total number of Israeli soldiers killed in the offensive to five with almost eighty others wounded in fighting.

Despite the human cost, many Israelis continue to back their government’s stance against Hamas. But, the offensive has failed to stop Hamas firing rockets into Israel. Earlier on Tuesday, the Israeli town of Gedera, some 45 kilometres north east of Gaza was hit. The furthest strike by Hamas so far. A 3 month old baby is known to have been slightly injured by broken glass in the missile attack.More about: , ,
