Rage in West Bank over Gaza attacks


Across the Palestinian territories there have been protests against the Isreali air strikes that have claimed around 420 lives in Gaza. They were called after the killing of Nizar Rayyan.

Thousands took part in a demonstration in Ramallah in the West Bank, which is dominated by the Fatah group, Hamas’s main rival. Elsewhere in the West Bank there were clashes between protestors and security forces in Qalqilya. Israeli authorities had been expecting trouble at Friday prayers in Jerusalem. It erupted after young Palestinians were prevented from getting to the main mosque in the city. There were further rallies in Nablus, Bethlehem and Qalandiya.
