Israeli Arab killed by Palestinian rocket

An Israeli man has been killed in a Palestinian rocket attack on the Israeli city of Ashkelon today. Around 15 people were also injured when the rocket slammed into a building site, around 17 kilometres north of Gaza. All the victims were Israeli Arabs.

The man was the second Israeli to have been killed over recent days. Two rockets hit the city yesterday and more than 20 landed in the surrounding area. In recent months, Hamas has attacked targets deeper and deeper inside Israel. Yesterday, missiles struck near the city of Ashdod, twice as far from Gaza as Ashkelon.
