An Iraqi doctor has been convicted of conspiracy to murder and conspiracy to cause explosions over attempted car bombings in two British cities. Bilal Abdulla was arrested after a failed suicide attack on Glasgow airport in June last year. He was one of two people in a jeep, packed with fuel containers and gas canisters, that was driven into the international terminal. A second attacker died from burns. Earlier, two car bombs left in the busy West End of London failed to explode.UK-born Abdulla worked at a British hospital as did fellow doctor Jordanian Mohammad Asha. Accused of providing guidance and funding for the attacks, he was cleared of any involvement.
