Chalk up another rising star from the new Russian firmament, Kseniya Sukhinova, the 58th Miss World.
The 21 year-old sizzler from Siberia who says she wants to be a supermodel beat off the rival charms of 108 other women.
“I am very happy. I am very proud of myself and of my country. I want to congratulate all the countries that took part and thank them very much. 109 took part here, which is a lot, and there were some great girls here so I want to thank them all for such a good competition. Thank you,” she said.
The two hour event was broadcast live to one 187 countries. Sukinhova wins a lucrative modelling contract, and appeared well set for that, having won the competition’s top model category. She also scooped third in the swimsuit parade.
