France’s high speed TGV trains have been affected by further acts of vandalism after concrete blocks were placed on railway lines.

France’s transport ministry says a TGV train struck two slabs of concrete late on Sunday night.

The latest incident took place near the Southern French town of Narbonne. It is reported the TGV only suffered light damage.

On Saturday several trains, including the Eurostar, experienced severe delays in the north of the French network after vandals snagged overhead electric cables.

The incidents caused widespread chaos with thousands of passengers suffering delays and cancellations over the weekend.

It is not known if the incidents were coordinated but authorities have confirmed they are still investigating the possibility that the strikes were deliberate acts of terrorism.

On November 1, thousands of passengers faced delays in the west of the country after overhead power lines were apparently shot down by a vandal with a gun.
