US candidates keen for a laugh

No one can say this US election campaign has been void of humour. Not only has Sarah Palin willingly taken part in spoofs about her image, she also fell victim to a prank call from a radio presenter posing as the French President.

She apparently failed to pick up on numerous absurd remarks ranging from hunting to Carla Bruni. On one TV show, McCain also willingly appeared alongside a fake Palin, making a joke about his party’s lack of funding for TV advertisements.

Obama has also appeared on comedy shows and has often tried to raise laughs in his speeches. Of course, it does remain to be seen who will have the last laugh.
