About 20 million ballots have already been cast in the US elections, with more than 30 states allowing early voting.
It is estimated that one third of voters will cast their ballots before election day on Tuesday, mainly because they will be away from home.
While some national opinion polls show that McCain has begun to chip away at Obama’s lead, some less scientific methods produce a wider margin. In some cafés, people get to choose their cups, according to who they plan to vote for.
One café owner said: “You can vote as many times as you’d like. If you’d like to come in five times a day, you can. You probably might want to go to decaf at some point, though.”
And in one California bakery, Obama is literally selling like hot cakes. The faces of the candidates feature on the top of sweet delights.
However, it seems that next best choice is McCain’s running mate, Sarah Palin.
