Al Qaeda chief reportedly killed

A suspected senior Al Qaeda figure in Pakistan has reportedly been killed in a US missile strike.
Egyptian Abu Jihad al-Masri, who has often appeared in videos from the terrorist network, had been on the US’s most wanted list.
A one million dollar reward had been offered for his capture or death. The US has not confirmed his death.
The attack was one of several that took place near the Pakistan/Afghanistan border, reportedly killing more than two dozen suspected militants. A woman fighter is also said to be among those killed.
The US military says Taliban and al Qaeda operatives were targetted, but one news agency quotes villagers and a local official as saying that civilians were killed.
