Ukraine has agreed in principle to borrow 13 billion euros from the International Monetary Fund to ease the effects of the financial crisis. The lending body, however, has specified that the loan will only go ahead if Prime Minister Yulia Timoshenko’s government approves planned changes to the country’s banking rules. The news comes as Ukraine sinks deeper into political crisis. A court still has to decide whether early elections called for on the seventh of December will go ahead.
