Renault workers have been holding stoppages and demonstrations after the carmaker announced final details of 2,000 more layoffs in Europe, including 900 in France. The industrial action was also in protest at 4,000 redundancies announced earlier this month. Workers from the Northern French factory at Sandouville blocked access to the nearby port of Le Havre. They are hardest hit by the layoffs because of poor sales of the Renault Laguna which is made there.
