A shooting at a school in Finland is reported to have left several people dead.
The mayor of Kauhajoki, in the west of the country, is quoted as saying the gunman, thought to be a 20-year-old male student, shot several people before turning the gun on himself.
Another town official has said the shooter tried to kill himself but that he is still alive.
Some reports say at least seven other people have been killed.
An automatic weapon is thought to have been used, on a day students were sitting exams.
It is also reported a fire had been started at the school, and police did not go straight onto the campus because the shooter was still on the loose.
The school is said to be for young adults preparing for the workforce.
The incident comes just 10 months after nine people were killed in a shooting at a school north of Helsinki.
In that case, an 18-year-old shot six students, a nurse and the principal, before killing himself.
He had earlier posted a video, outlining his intentions, on the Internet.
