The latest pre-ballot polls pointed to a multi-party coalition as the most likely outcome.

The SDS party of Prime Minister Janez Jansa had a narrow lead in the run up to the vote, but corruption allegations against his government may have taken their toll. Early exit polls are indicating the opposition Social Democrats, headed by Borut Pahor, may have come out on top.

The forming of a coalition will hinge on the performance of smaller parties such as the Liberal Democrats of Katarina Kresal and Karl Erjavic’s Pensioner Party.

Parties must obtain a minimum of four percent of the vote in order to enter parliament. Here are the latest results according to unofficial exit polls.
