Some 19 people have reportedly been arrested in connection with yesterday’s bomb attack on the US embassy in Yemen.
Media reports coming out of the capital say those detained are suspected of being linked to al Qaeda.
At least 16 people including two attackers died in a series of explosions outside the heavily fortified embassy. No US citizens were killed.
Washington says the attack bore the hallmarks of an al Qaeda strike.
A group calling itself Islamic Jihad in Yemen has claimed responsibility and threatened attacks on other embassies.
The group is not thought to be linked to the Palestinian group with the same name.
