Rogue trader's assistant quizzed

The assistant to rogue trader Jerome Kerviel is being investigated for possible involvement in the trading scandal which cost French bank Societe Generale billions of euros. The Paris prosecutor’s office said 24 year old Thomas Mougard has been questioned but is not being held in custody.

Prosecutors said they are looking into whether he entered false information in the bank’s computers to cover the unauthorised trades that Kerviel is accused of making. The bank lost 4.9 billion euros over Kerviel’s activities. He is facing charges of forgery, breach of trust and hacking into the bank’s computers.
