ETA blamed for double blast in northern Spain

world news

There has been a second blast in northern Spain following reports of a warning from the militant Basque separatist group, ETA. The first device went off on a sea-front walkway in the town of Laredo. A second exploded at a beach watchtower in nearby Noja. No-one was hurt in either attack.

Authorities say they received an anonymous call saying ETA had planted four devices. It is the second attack this month blamed on ETA. The group claimed responsibility for a bombing at a telecommunications installation in the Basque Country on July 4.
