Dozens killed in Egyptian train crash

world news

In north west Egypt, dozens of people have been killed and dozens more injured after a train crashed into several vehicles on a railway crossing.

Moments earlier a truck had hit cars and a bus waiting at the crossing, close to the town of Marsa Matrouh, pushing them onto the tracks.

The force of the impact turned over two of the carriages, on top of the cars, and derailed two more.

A series of road and rail accidents in recent years have prompted a public outcry.
