Family and friends mourn two Israeli soldiers

For those close to the two captured Israeli army reservists, the news ended an agonising two year wait.

One family member had talked about the glimmer of hope that they had felt before the coffins appeared, a glimmer which has now been extinguished.

Three members of Israel’s cabinet voted against the deal, opposed to trading live prisoners for soldiers’ bodies.

But a brother of one of the dead men spoke of the moral value of returning the two back home.
