Two more people have been arrested in connection with the murders of two French students in London, after a 33-year-old Briton was charged with the crimes. He was named as Nigel Farmer. He gave himself up a week after the students’ bodies were found, bound and stabbed, in a burning south London apartment.
Farmer was suffering from burns when he went to police on Monday. He’s now been charged with double murder, arson and attempting to pervert the course of justice.
Gabriel Ferez and Laurent Bonomo were bio-engineering students from Clermont-Ferrand in central France. They were on a three-month attachment at University College in London.
Bonomo was stabbed nearly 200 times, half of the wounds inflicted after his death. Ferez suffered some 50 wounds. The latest suspects are a 35-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman.
