New EU-leaning Serbian government confirmed

The Serbian Parliament has approved a pro-Western government that aims to consign the fervent nationalism of the 1990’s to history.

The former Finance Minister Mirko Cvetkovic is to head an unlikely alliance between the Socialist Party, once led by Slobodan Milosevic and the Democratic Party of President Boris Tadic.

In a speech to parliament Cvetkovic said that quick entry into the EU was his primary goal he also indicated that he would concentrate on improving a slow Serbian economy and crackdown on crime and corruption.
The West now hopes that a pro-EU government in Belgrade will deliver the remaining war crime suspects to the UN tribunal in Den Haag.

However, on Kosovan independence, the new prime minister made it clear that Serbia would never give up on Kosovo.
