Spain’s annual bull running fiesta has got off to a bad start with nine people injured on the first day. Yesterday a young man died after falling from a wall during the festivities in Pamplona. Another 89 suffered minor injuries.
A run takes place each morning for nine days, with the aim being to stay close to the bulls without being gored.
With Sunday’s fatality, the event has seen 15 deaths since its start in 1911.
It was made famous in Ernest Hemmingway’s 1926 novel The Sun Also Rises.
