A double murder hunt is underway in London after two French biochemistry students were brutally stabbed to death and left in a burning flat. Both aged 23, Laurent Bonomo and Gabriel Ferez were studying at the prestigious Imperial College in the British capital.
The senior detective in charge of the case described it as the most violent attack he had ever seen. “The cause of the deaths was multiple injuries to the head, neck, torso and back,” said Det. Chief Insp. Mick Duthie of the Metropolitan Police. “Both appear to have been bound during this incident. The extent of the injuries are horrific.”
Neighbours saw a man running from the scene. Police are looking at the possibility the French pair may have been the victims of mistaken identity.
