European markets closed on Monday as stocks fell for the first time in three days and British Airways, BMW and Danone all suffered losses. Concern is growing over the rising costs of raw materials which are inevitably eroding earnings for airlines, manufacturers and food companies.

British Airways, Europe’s third carrier slipped the most as luxury car maker BMW dropped to a three month low. Danone, dropped 3.2 percent as a deteriorating outlook for consumer spending and higher energy costs took hold.
