After talks with the US President in London, the British Prime Minister has issued a fresh warning against Iran. Gordon Brown spoke to the media after talks with George W. Bush on numerous controversial issues. He echoed the US leader’s stance that tougher sanctions are needed if no progress is made on the Iran nuclear issue.
“If Iran continues to ignore united resolutions, to ignore our offers of partnership, we have no choice but to intensify sanctions,” said Brown. “And so today Britain will urge Europe, and Europe will agree to take further sanctions against Iran”.
While demonstrators continue to protest against Bush’s farewell trip to Europe, Brown also said Britain will today announce additional troops for Afghanistan.
