The rising cost of living in Belgium has brought thousands of people out onto the streets in protest.
It is part of a week long demonstration across the country, organised by trade unions to highlight the imbalance many people are facing between lowering salaries and soaring prices. “It’s about time that the European Union takes into consideration the social aspects of life and not only the economic aspects of multinational companies.
It is clear that financial gains enjoyed by these multinationals are due to the workers,” said this protestor. Similar demonstrations are planned across Europe.
