“The Children of Huang Shi” is based on the true story of George Hogg, a British journalist in 1930s war-torn China, who risks everything to document Chinese suffering, but ultimately becomes part of the war itself. After being injured as he witnessed 200 men, women and children being murdered, Hogg goes to a Red Cross station, where an American nurse and a Chinese partisan leader send him to recover at a school in Huang Shi. There, he finds 60 young orphans living in an abandoned building, and their lives change forever.
