Puglia biennale continues to surprise

Thanks to the Biennale Puglia 2008, art is coming in the strangest of ways to Bari, in southern Italy. Even from the sea. For instance a group of Albanian artists dubbed the “smart traffickers” have brought the “spirit of art” encased in a box from the Albanian coast to Italy. This is only one of hundreds of happenings and performances organised for the Puglia Biennale 2008, an event created for young artists from all over Europe and Russia. Bari has been chosen for its strategic position and from until “at least” the 8th of June, it will host over 500 artistic productions and show over 1000 paintings. The theme this year is “Kairos”, a Greek word which means both change and exchange.
