Obama launches search for a running mate

world news

| |

A day after becoming the Democratic Party’s presumptive Presidential candidate, Barack Obama has begun his search for a running mate. Obama has appointed a three-person team including Caroline Kennedy, daughter of the late President JFK, to vet prospective partners.

Hillary Clinton’s team have said she will renounce her own campaign and officially express support for Obama at a rally on Saturday.

It remains to be seen whether the Democrat dream ticket of race and gender can be combined to contest the US Presidential election in November.
