A rare specimen of giant squid has been found deep in Antarctic waters. Its being studied by a team of scientists from New Zealand keen to know more about how the animal functions and reproduces. The 8-meter long squid has been frozen for over a year after being caught by a deep-sea fishing boat and is well preserved, its eyes are 27 centimeters in diameter and it is the first time scientists have been able to study up close the eyes of such a creature.
