Schwarzenegger backs McCain’s presidential bid

California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has endorsed John McCain in his bid to become US president. With his old friend Rudy Giuliani on board, McCain’s drive to secure the Republican nomination looks stronger than ever, less than a week ahead of Super Tuesday.

“He has incredible credentials in national security, and, of course, he is a fantastic, outstanding public servant,” Schwarzenegger said. “He is a great American hero and an extraordinary leader. This is why I am endorsing him to be our next President of the United States, so let’s hear it for Senator McCain.”

This latest backing could be crucial for McCain in the race against his main rival, former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney.
