Super Tuesday is less than a week away and, with his old friend Rudy Giuliani on board, John McCain’s bid for the Republican nomination looks stronger than ever.

Giuliani, the former New York mayor, was once himself the front-runner to represent his party in November’s presidential election.

But, after his dismal showing in Florida’s primary on Tuesday, he has abandoned his own White House ambitions and endorsed McCain as the “most qualified candidate.”

The McCain campaign has also been boosted by big-name backing from California’s Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
