A military helicopter from the Former Yugoslavian Republic of Macedonia has crashed killing all 11 passengers and crew.
The craft was transporting soldiers home from the European Union-led peacekeeping operation in Bosnia .
Although the cause of the incident is still unclear, it is known that the helicopter was only minutes from landing but that conditions were foggy.
Rescue services said that debris was scattered up to a hundred metres from the crash site.
The helicopter came down near a village 25 kilometres south east of the capital Skopje
Macedonia’s military helicopter fleet is mostly made up of Russian-made craft bought seven years ago. An investigation into the crash is underway.
