Republicans vie to fill Bush's shoes


On the Republican side, the former governor of Arkansas and Baptist minister Mike Huckabee is hoping to do well in a state with a significant number of religious and conservative voters. But some opinion polls over the past week have suggested that former Massachusetts governor, Mitt Romney has made gains on Huckabee.

John McCain, a senator from Arizona, is also said to have been steadily rising in the polls in both Iowa and the next state to hold a primary, New Hampshire.
