Four people have been killed and more than fifty injured in an explosion in the the town of Diyarbakir. Two of the dead were soldiers. The two others were children killed as they left a nearby school at the time of the explosion.
Diyarbakir is the main town in south eastern Turkey. It is presently a staging point for troops battling PKK Kurdish rebels both inside Turkey and in northern Iraq.
Eyewitnesses described several explosions one after another.
