Five of the six teenagers accused of setting fire to a bus in Marseille a year ago, seriously injuring a young woman, have been sent to prison. They were jailed for between three to nine years; the sixth was acquitted. 27-year-old Mama Galledou suffered burns to 62 percent of her body and continues to suffer ill-health.

On Wednesday, the mother of the main suspect demanded in court that he admit he started the fire. He said he had, prompting his co-accused to break down in tears, and admit their part in the incident. After the verdict, Mama Galledou said at last her ordeal was over.
