Bloody Bhutto return to Karachi

world news

| |

Dozens of supporters of the former prime minister of Pakistan, Benazir Bhutto, have been killed in a bomb blast in Karachi. Many more have been injured.

It happened as she was making a triumphant procession through the city after returning home from eight years of self-imposed exile. Bhutto is reportedly safe.

Militants linked to al Qadea, angered by Bhutto’s support for the US-led war in Iraq, had threatened to assassinate her on her return.
