The net is closing around Canadian Christopher Paul Neil, a suspected paedophile, who is now thought to be in Thailand. He was the subject of an unprecedented Interpol appeal after German police unscrambled his digitally-altered face in photographs on the internet, where he appeared to be sexually abusing young boys.
“When you have managed to put a name to the face or to identify the criminal the investigation has made a huge step forward,” said Interpol’s director of police services Jean-Michel Louboutin. “We know he went from Korea to Thailand on October 11.”
It has emerged that Neil taught at an international school in Bangkok in 2003 and 2004. When Interpol posted the cleaned-up picture of the suspect, more than 350 people came forward.
