English rugby fans celebrate victory in Paris

England’s win over France in the semi-final of the Rugby World Cup has prompted riotous celebrations by their fans in Paris. “It was absolutely amazing. The atmosphere was incredible,” said one England supporter. “We are amazed. Absolutely chuffed to bits!” said another.

After France had led for most of the match, the final few minutes proved nail-biting, which only served to make victory sweeter for the thousands who had made the journey across the channel. They must now wait until tonight to know whether the champions last time around will defend their title against South Africa or Argentina.
