ETA claims small bomb blast in Spain

world news

| |

A small bomb has exploded on a road in Fuenmayor in Spain’s Rioja region, causing minor damage. The blast came after a telephone warning from a caller claiming to represent the Basque separatist militants, ETA.

Police were neutralising four other devices found on other roads in the north, including one in the Basque country.

Today is the last day of the school holidays in Spain and traffic is usually particularly heavy as Spaniards make their way home.
