Thousands join the Love Parade

world news

| |

The Love Parade which grew from a 1989 peace demonstration in Berlin into a huge outdoor celebration of club life has moved from the German capital to the Ruhr region. Financial difficulties forced the cancellation of the 2004 and 2005 event. It returned in 2006 to Berlin attracting over half a million party people. Organisers and the city of Berlin failed to reach an agreement on the 2007 edition so it moved. This years Love Parade took place in Essen and over the next four-years will be held in Dortmund, Bochum, Duisburg and Gelsenkirchen.
