German hostage released in Kabul


The German aid worker abducted in Afghanistan has been freed, local police sources in Kabul have announced. Christina Barbara Meier was seized on Saturday in a restaurant in the Afghan capital while having lunch with her husband. Authorities said her liberation was the result of a police operation and four “terrorists” had been arrested. Meier, 31, works for the aid organisation ORA.
